Deepika Ranveer wedding Traditional Konkani wedding over, the Anand Karaj is on tomorrow


Lake Como, Italy Nov 14: It’s the wedding to sigh for. By the time our American readers get to read this, Bollywood couple Ranveer Singh and Depika Padukone will have tied the knot in traditional Konkani South Indian style ceremony today at Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como. Thursday is the date set for an Anand Karaj ceremony in traditional Sindhi style.

Reports of the sangeet ceremony were pouring in by mid-afternoon. An excited Ranveer Singh made a dramatic entry to the wedding venue by dancing on the tunes of his Gunday song, Tune Maari Entriyaan, said a Pinkvilla report. The couple got a surprise from their family which had arranged a special guitar performance for the groom and bride-to-be.  The couple couldn’t help but sing along when the Bajirao Mastani number, Aayat, was played. Bollywood hit numbers like ‘London Thumakda’ and ‘Dama Dum Mast Kalandar’ reverberated around the picturesque surroundings of the venue.

According to an ANI report, the security arrangements for the Bollywood super-couple has been on par with that of world leaders. From special wrist bands to patrolling boats to no mobile phone cameras, everything has been done to ensure the security of both the venues in Italy. The report states that, at the CastaDiva resort, where Ranveer’s event took place, all guests or visitors have to present a special wrist band while security guards cover up the camera lenses on mobile phones with stickers. Also, the guests’ e-invite bears a QR code to be scanned at the entry. In order to keep snooping photographers and gossip mongers at bay, numerous security boats patrol outside the venue.

The DeepVeer wedding is a close-knit affair with only a handful of celebrities in attendance. According to a report, only 30 to 40 guests have been invited for the fairytale event. The guests arrived in batches of 8-10 per boat and made their way to the beautifully decorated villa in Italy. The security arrangements are very tight in and around the venue.

The beautiful venue for their wedding overlooks the picturesque Lake Como. The two actors, who have worked in films like Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, were engaged on Wednesday morning. Bride’s father and former badminton player Prakash Padukone welcome Ranveer in his family by giving him a coconut. Their mehndi ceremony and wedding sangeet had just got underway as this report was being filed.

The wedding preparations at the Lake Como venue are underway in full swing. According to a report, the resort has 75 rooms, 4 restaurants and bars, including an al fresco terrace overlooking the lake. The average cost of a room at the property is 400 euros or Rs 33,000. Since Deepika and Ranveer have fully booked the place, they are spending around Rs 24,75,000 per day, which comes to more than Rs 1 crore 73 lakh for a week.

According to the sources, Ranveer and Deepika will host a lavish luncheon and party for their guests at the Villa del Balbianello for which chefs from Switzerland have been flown in to join the catering team for desserts and the wedding cake. Also, the report suggests that Ranveer and Deepika has struck a deal with the chefs which states that the dishes served at the ceremony won’t be prepared anywhere else.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh donned Sabyasachi at the mehendi ceremony on Tuesday. According to Mumbai Mirror, the bride and groom colour-coordinated their attires for the occasion. The couple looked royal.

According to an India Today report, the couple is shelling out Rs 5.77 lakh on just the roses used for the decoration purposes. Each white rose costs $1 and nearly 8000 roses have been purchased for the wedding festivities.

On their return to India, Deepika and Ranveer will reportedly make their first public appearance at their Bengaluru reception on November 21. Later, the couple will hold a wedding reception in Mumbai too on November 28.

According to a Pinkvilla report, Deepika Padukone will wear a red and golden lehenga designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for her Sindhi wedding. The report citing a source has revealed that, “The bridal lehenga will be a vibrant red with intricate threadwork; it will bear the designer’s signature touch. Ranveer, on the other hand, will be seen in a kanjeevaram sherwani with equally delicate threadwork.”
