AIPC to press for positive change in society: Ameeta Sinh


Lucknow. Social depravity is responsible for Rising Crime. This was the topic of discussion at the recently organized event by the All India Professional Congress (AIPC), Lucknow chapter recently. Delivering the Keynote address, Professor Rakesh Chandra, Head of Department, Faculty of Philosophy, Lucknow University stated that rising materialism in society, failure of an effective law and order system and deteriorating moral values were the reasons behind the rise of crime in the country, He also laid the blame on a lax political and administrative system for allowing a free hand to miscreants to indulge in wanton acts of mayhem.

Speaking on the occasion, the other eminent speaker, Ms. Satya Singh, a much distinguished retired police officer of Uttar Pradesh police, explained the inverse relationship between society and crime and how the deterioration in one leads to a rise in the other.

The event boasted of a large gathering with fellows of the AIPC participating in the event along with several eminent locals participating in the function. AIPC chapters, across UP keep organizing such workshops specifically for society’s awareness.

Speaking to The India Observer, wife of senior Congress leader Mr. Sanjay Sinh, Dr. Ameeta Sinh, who is the President, AIPC-UP said, “It is the vision of Congress President Rahul Gandhi that social and economic issues be highlighted by the AIPC through functions like these and we want people to understand the importance of such issues. They should be educated regarding these issues from time to time through such events”.

“AIPC-UP has decided that various chapters in UP would regularly keep organizing such events.” said Ms. Neelam Vaish Singh, a fellow.

The AIPC led by Congress MP, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, is a body of professionals which acts as a think tank for the Congress. It boasts of a sizeable community of professionals from each city and works as a pressure group to initiate positive action and highlight areas in need of change in society. Many doctors, lawyers and other professional are associated with the body with Mr. Salman Soz as the head of North Zone-AIPC India.
