Sanatan Sanstha’s activities are hurting Indian Muslims

The latest episode of the ‘Hate Muslim’ project that is uploaded for the countrymen is the event organized by the Sanatan Sanstha named “Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav” in New Delhi on 13-14 December 2025.
The event served as a platform for over 800 organizations to unite and plan for the protection of Hindu culture. It was ostensibly organized to mark the silver jubilee of the organization and celebrate the 83rd birthday of its founder, Dr. Jayant Athavale’s but the real motive was to belittle the Muslim community with the support from the BJP government.

The Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav” saw the participation of over 3,000 delegates, mostly comprising the Hindu community, whose chilling account was reported in the media, which gave a nihilistic call to annihilate the entire Muslim race from India.
Union ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Shripad Naik, and Sanjay Seth, as well as Delhi tourism minister Kapil Mishra, were some of the dignitaries present on the dais.
Among the speakers was Sudarshan TV chief, Suresh Chavhanke, who thought that “25% Muslims presently living in India are infiltrators” from the neighboring countries, and they should be removed by applying the National Citizens Register (NCR) Act. He also called for “the need to cap the Muslim population in India.”
Ashwini Upadhyay, a BJP leader, suggested the need to convert all Muslims to Hinduism. He urged the Hindus to pursue conversion activity very actively. He suggested that if “every Hindu converts one Muslim,” a broader objective could be achieved. He also suggested that Hindu business owners should influence their Muslim employees to convert to Hinduism for their job protection. Upadhyay also suggested that a “government fear” must be instilled among the Muslims so they can convert to Hinduism to protect their lives.

Rahul Dewan of the “Hindu Fund” called for an “offensive strategy” to establish a “constitutional Hindu Rashtra.” He suggested Hindu- Muslim segregation is essential by giving the example that if “ammonium nitrate” were mixed in sweets, “lakhs of Hindus will die.” ‘Hindu Fund’ is a trust to awaken and empower Sanatana Dharma.
The event drew public attention, raising three broad questions: Who is Sanatan Sanstha, and what is the background of this organization? What is the role of the government in organizing such an event? What purpose does such an event serve to the country?
Sanatan Sanstha is a right-wing Hindu organization founded in 1999 in Goa by Dr. Jayant Athavale. This organization’s main focus is to establish a “Hindu Rashtra.” In its two and a half decades of existence, Sanatan Sanstha, as an organization, is involved in several bomb blasts from 2007–2009. Prominent among them are bomb blasts at Vashi, Thane, in Maharashtra, and Panvel in Goa.
Sanatan Sanstha is also accused of the killing of prominent rationalists like Narendra Dabholkar (2013), Govind Pansare (2015), M.M. Kalburgi (2015), and journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh (2017).

As an organization, Sanatan Sanstha has never been banned despite its criminal record. The BJP government at the Center and the states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Goa has sympathetic attitude towards Sanatan Sanstha.
About the “Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav” 2025, a RTI report has revealed that it was a government-funded event. Union Ministry of Culture had sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 63 lakh to Sanatan Sanstha, Sanatan Ashram, Ramnathi Village, Ponda, Goa, for organizing this event. The Ministry of Culture stated that the grant was provided under the head for commemorating the 150th year of the national song “Vande Mataram.”
It’s now clear that the BJP government is supporting an event that violates the Constitution and the country’s judicial laws. The government funding for such an event has drawn public criticism.
Aditya Menon, editor of the web-portal ‘The Quint’ questioned the government’s decision to fund such an event. “The issue is not whether Rs 63 lakh was a large or small amount, but why taxpayers’ money was being used to support such a programme that runs contrary to constitutional principles,” he asked. He questioned, “Can the government fund an event that calls for ‘cleansing’ of the Muslim community and demanding the establishment of a ‘Hindu Rashtra?”
Indian Media’s project to separate Hindus from Muslims is on the wane
The official explanation on the website Sanatan.org is that the Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav (2025) was aimed to unite pro-Hindu organizations for the establishment of a “Hindu Rashtra.” The goal of the event was to bring together saints, leaders, and devotees to resolve to establish an ideal “Sanatan Rashtra”. The event was meant to address the need to protect temples and traditions from “attacks,” and to restore the glory of the cow, Ganga, and scriptures. The event focused on protecting Hindu culture from alleged threats.
Notwithstanding the facts, the fact remains that Indian Muslims are cornered by such developments happening in the country. They are already facing the onslaught of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), where their names are removed from the electoral rolls. They are also facing “Domicide,” i.e., bulldozer demolition of their homes that has the approval of the government, and the government of the day is aiding an event, where annihilation of the Muslim race is announced from a public platform.
If we recall, a similar activity had taken place from December 17–19, 2021, at a Dharma Sansad (religious assembly) of Hindu ascetics at Haridwar in Uttarakhand. Hate speeches were also delivered in which the speakers called for a genocide against Muslims in the name of protecting the Hindu religion. There were no immediate arrests made for such a hate crime. Subsequently, some arrests were made, after a huge public outcry, but all the accused were allowed to walk free.
Now, at the Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnad Mahotsav, in New Delhi, similar activity has taken place, under the government-funded event, where hate mongering against the Muslims was done publicly. It remains to be seen if anyone can stop such hate crimes against Muslims. Expecting any relief from the Indian judiciary is a far cry, but the fact is that’s the only hope for Indian Muslims.
Currently, Muslims are totally at a loss to give a response to such a nihilistic environment being created in India. They have another option than to suffer in ignominy and remain living in pain and agony. The hostile forces against the Muslims have taken over the reins of power, and Indian Muslims have to accept their condition as fait accompli.
