Parsippany Makes History With Swearing-In of Mayor Pulkit Desai and New Township Council

By Adam Rizvi | Editor, The India Observer (TIO): PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany witnessed a historic and celebratory evening as Pulkit Desai was sworn in as Mayor alongside newly elected council members Matt Kavanagh and Diya Patel, before a standing-room-only audience at the municipal building in Troy Hills.

The packed ceremony reflected strong civic engagement and the township’s evolving diversity, with residents, community leaders, and elected officials filling the chamber to witness the transition of leadership.

According to the official program of events, the ceremony was called to order by Municipal Clerk Khaled Madin, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and formal remarks. Mayor Pulkit Desai was administered the oath of office by State Senator Raj Mukherji, while Councilman Matt Kavanagh was sworn in by the municipal clerk. Councilwoman Diya Patel took her oath administered by Superior Court Judge Lori Grifa.
