Groom taken from his wedding on rape charges

On Thursday Boisar police picked a groom from right in the middle of his wedding ceremonies on the basis of the rape complaint filed against him by his own cousin.

According to the complaint, accused (22) had entered into a physical relationship with victim (24) and the relationship lasted from 2010 to May 2016.

Since marriage between cousins is allowed in her community, the victim not only went forward with the relationship but found no reason to doubt his intentions however, on getting to know about his plans to get married on Thursday, she went to the police and filed a complaint on Wednesday.

Accprding to PSI Deepak Jogdana, Boisar police station, a case has been registered under section 376 (rape) and the accused could be produced in the court on Friday.
