Gov.-Elect Mikie Sherrill Calls for Immediate Removal of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth After Scathing IG Report

In her official statement, Sherrill said: “I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: Pete Hegseth is wholly unfit to lead the Department of Defense and should resign or be fired immediately. His reckless decision to use Signal to share classified information not only broke the law but put the mission and U.S. pilots’ lives in danger. Our armed forces deserve better than his masterclass in incompetence.”
