By Adam Rizvi | Editor, The India Observer (TIO): TRENTON, NJ — Jennifer Davenport, Attorney General of New Jersey, issued a statement Saturday outlining precautionary security measures being implemented statewide following reports of military strikes in Iran, Israel, and other parts of the Middle East.
The Attorney General confirmed that Mikie Sherrill has been in active communication with her office, Jeanne Hengemuhle, Acting Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, and Thomas Hauck, Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, as they coordinate with federal partners, the state’s 21 County Prosecutors, law enforcement leaders, and community and religious leaders across New Jersey.

“It is the highest priority of the Sherrill Administration to keep the residents of the State of New Jersey safe during this time of increased tension and social media activity,” Attorney General Davenport stated.
While officials report no specific or credible threats to safety in New Jersey, law enforcement agencies will increase patrols at sensitive locations, particularly houses of worship, to ensure residents feel secure in their communities.
Authorities will also implement additional precautionary steps — some visible and others conducted discreetly — as part of standard homeland security protocols during periods of international instability.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement without delay.
Attorney General Davenport emphasized that New Jersey will remain steadfast in rejecting hate, intolerance, and violence during this period of global tension.
The Office of the Attorney General encourages residents to report incidents of bias either to their local police department or through the state’s NJBIAS online portal. Reports can also be made by calling 800-277-BIAS.
Officials stressed that community cooperation remains essential in ensuring public safety and maintaining unity across New Jersey’s diverse population.
