PM Narendra Modi accepts Virat Kohli’s fitness challenge

India captain Virat Kohli has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an online fitness dare, which the PM accepted and promised to post a video of his workout regimen. “Challenge accepted, Virat! I will be sharing my own #FitnessChallenge video soon,” Modi tweeted from his personal handle.

The initiative, called the ‘Hum Fit Toh India Fit’ challenge, was started by Sports Minister Rajavardhan Singh Rathore, who posted a short video of himself doing push-ups and urged people to shoot a video of their “fitness mantra” and share it

He tagged Kohli, shuttler Saina Nehwal and actor Hrithik Roshan in the video, challenging them to post their own exercise videos.

Kohli responded to it yesterday by posting a video of his gym training and tagged his actor wife Anushka Sharma, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and PM Modi.

“Challenge accepted, Virat! I will be sharing my own #FitnessChallenge video soon,” Modi tweeted from his personal handle.

Saina also posted a viddeo of her workout and challenged Rana Daggubati, PV Sindu and Gautam Gambhir. “Thank u so much @Ra_THORe sir for challenging me ?..#HumFitTohIndiaFit Post pictures and videos of how you keep yourself fit and send a #FitnessChallenge to your friends on social media. Here’s my video and I challenge @RanaDaggubati @Pvsindhu1 and @GautamGambhir,” she tweeted.

The fitness challenge is now quite a rage online and people are also jumping onto the bandwagon. PT Usha, for example, tweeted, “Nobody challenged me but I’m here being active #HumFitTohIndiaFit Post pictures and videos of how you keep yourself fit and send a #FitnessChallenge to your friends on social media. I challenge @olympicdeva @PankajAdvani247 @BishanBedi @M_Raj03”

Rathore then replied to Usha and wrote, “Who can possibly dare to challenge you @PTUshaOfficial? You will always be an inspiration to thousands of Indian women for staying fit and chasing their dreams like a champion. Thank you for being a part of the #HumFitTohIndiaFit #FitnessChallenge.”

Tiger Shroff, Farhan Akhtar, Babita Phogat and TV actor Soumya Tandon also joined the fitness campaign.
