By Adam Rizvi | Editor, The India Observer (TIO): As the holy month of Ramadan continues, Sumbul Siddiqui has invited residents to attend the annual Cambridge Community Iftar scheduled for Saturday, February 28, at the Cambridge Street Upper School (830 Cambridge Street).
Doors will open at 5:20 PM, with food served at 6:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public, with registration recommended but not required.
The Community Iftar is being held in collaboration with the City of Cambridge Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Cambridge Public Schools Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, the Cambridge Community Foundation, and the Islamic Society of Boston.
In her message to residents, Mayor Siddiqui expressed her hope to see the Cambridge community come together during this sacred month.
Ramadan is observed by millions of Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, reflection, charity, and spiritual renewal. Community iftars hosted by civic leaders serve as opportunities to strengthen neighborly bonds, interfaith dialogue, and civic inclusion.
Public events such as this reflect the growing representation of diverse communities in American public life and highlight the importance of shared spaces where residents of all backgrounds can gather.
