The India Observer (TIO): NEWARK, NJ — February 22, 2026 — Due to forecasted significant snowfall across New Jersey, NJ Transit has announced a temporary suspension of all bus, light rail, and Access Link services beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
Rail service adjustments are also expected later in the evening, with updates to be provided in advance as conditions develop.
The decision follows the latest advisory from the National Weather Service and aligns with safety recommendations issued by Mikie Sherrill urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.

These services will remain suspended through the end of the service day Sunday and will resume only when conditions are deemed safe.
Rail operations may continue in limited capacity for equipment positioning and snow-clearing purposes, though passenger service may be adjusted.

NJ TRANSIT’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is actively monitoring the storm. Crews have been pre-positioned statewide to respond to weather-related impacts.

Motorists are reminded to obey railroad crossing signals at all times, even during service suspensions, as maintenance equipment may still be operating.
