Musical Celebration of Diwali at ITV Gold Auditorium.
The India Observer: In association with Gandhyan Society and Pandit Jasraj Institute for Music and Artistry, YAMAN ARTS FOUNDATION organized a MUSICAL CELEBRATION of DIWALI at ITV GOLD AUDITORIUM.
A TABLA ENSEMBLE featuring Aarav, Aryan, Kaashish, Amogh, Aryan and Tushar (students of Pandit Aditya Narayan Banerjee) impressed the audience. Followed by a GROUP VOCAL RECITAL by Atherva, Aishika, Anika and Ronak, which rendered 2 compositions of Devi, directed and supported on Harmonium by Smt. Lalita Mathur & Adityaji on Tabla.
GHAZAL, THUMRI and popular BOLLYWOOD songs were the attractions of the second half. Smt. Anasua Dey, sang two popular Gazal numbers “Muhabbat karne wale kam na honge” and “Hum to hai pardesh me”. Then Pandit Pranab Kumar Biswas mesmerised the discerning audience by his melodious voice – presenting evergreen melodies based on raga Yaman Kalyan : “Jab Deep Jale aana”, “Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho”, “Tum ko dekha to ye Khayal aaya.” Suffi number “ Eri sakhi mai piya ghar”, raga-based film songs “Aaoge jab tum ho Saajna”, “Naam Gum jayega”, “Bite Na bitaye rayena”& “Mere Nayna Sawan Bhado”
Appropriate support by brilliant accompanying musicians Sri Ranjan Roy Chaudhuri (Guitar), Razib Hassan (Keyboard) and Aditya Narayan Banerjee (tabla) contributed to the impact of the renderings. As a Guest of honor Pandit Ramesh Narayan a famous singer and film music composer was in the audience. The performances & the event is sure to resonate in the memory of music-lovers of New Jersey for a long time.
